Great Yarmouth, Norfolk travel information
Great Yarmouth Norfolk England
Great Yarmouth boasts the most popular strip of the scenic Norfolk Coastline, where you’ll find a whole host of attractions for all the family throughout the year.
The first love of the place is obviously the long stretch of sandy beach that never fails to attract hoards of visitors each season. Great Yarmouth is also Norfolk’s largest port leading to miles of beautiful waterways and has not one but two piers. The Wellington Pier was built back in 1854, followed by the Britannia Pier two years later.
When it comes to other attractions Great Yarmouth prides itself on appealing to families of all ages from kids to great-grandparents, providing entertainment for all from bowling greens and bingo, concerts and casinos, to amusement arcades and aqua gliding. It also has an action packed events diary with the likes of: craft fairs, firework displays, beach parties, boat and car rallies and numerous festivals. So it’s not for nothing that the area is known as the entertainment capital of the East Coast where there’s never a dull moment.
Look a little closer still though and you’ll find not only the modern day attractions but also an area rich in history, the story of which is told in the area’s various museums.
